Walking in the Light
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
Psalm 119:105
The psalmist does not say God's word is a floodlight that illuminates the entire road ahead. It is a lamp — enough light for the next step, and the one after that.
We often want God to reveal the whole journey before we take the first step. We want to see the destination before we leave the driveway. But faith does not work that way. Faith is walking in the light you have, trusting that more light will come as you move forward.
His word is not just information — it is illumination. When you open Scripture, you are not just reading ancient text. You are inviting the living God to speak into your present moment, to shed light on your specific path, to guide your very next step.
Today, take one step in the direction He has already shown you. You don't need to see the whole path. You just need to trust the One who holds the lamp.
Reflections
What step has God already shown you that you've been hesitating to take? What would it look like to trust the lamp for just the next step?
Prayer
Lord, Your word is a lamp to my feet. Help me to trust the light I have rather than waiting for light I don't yet need. Lead me one step at a time. In Jesus Name, Amen.
